Last week of FLA before winter break is almost over... :)
We wish all our pupils and parents lovely, cosy, energy-boosting, safe three weeks and we will be looking forward to seeing you all again, all rested and motivated to restart, on Monday 11th January inshaAllah.
The drawing attached is from one of our little pupils, who presented it to his teachers yesterday, saying "I love FLA and I will miss it, but taking a break is a human right!" โค๏ธ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ–ค
Have a blessed break and don't forget to revise your Quran! ๐Ÿฅณ

Our children have been working so hard regardless of the tough circumstances and all the extra rules they have to follow, so we do feel strongly that they deserve a break, some time to relax in the security of their homes. ๐Ÿฅฐ
Therefor, we will prolonge the winter break a couple of days from the start and a couple of days from the end, so they could benefit from 3 full weeks of time at home inshaAllah. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜Ž
May Allah bless them and reward them for their patience and efforts! ๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿ’™
Islam teaches us to respect food and to value what Allah swt has blessed us with, because not everybody is as lucky and able to eat to their satisfaction every day.
Allah swt expects us to experience hunger during the month of Ramadan, in order to teach us - among other things - the value of food.
Allah swt expects us to give Zakaat to the poor. He expects us to share our sacrifice on Eid ul-Adha with the poor. He expects us to feed the orphans and the needy, but it is also considered good manners in Islam to share food with our guests, neighbors and friends. We often cook to our friends or family who are moving house, just had a baby, feeling sick ...
One of the important pillars of our children's life skills should be respect towards food. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ˜
โญ๏ธ We eat what we are served.
โญ๏ธ We eat what is in front of us.
โญ๏ธ We do not overload our plates or stomachs.
โญ๏ธ We eat healthy.
โญ๏ธ We say Bismillah and Alhamdulillah.
โญ๏ธ We do not cook too much food, to make sure it would not go to waste ...
But sometimes it still happens - food stays uneaten for too long. Then we try to find a solution to eat it before it will go off.
This is exactly what had happened to some bananas last weekend. And our young chef Jakob decided that the bananas were too valuable to let them go to waste, we had to rescue them! Even though they did not look very appetizing any more, they were actually at the hight of their sweetness, so adding them to some baked goods would mean we would not need to add sugar! ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ
This is how one of FLA pupils - Jakob - made old-banana muffins. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿฅฎ

Due to the current situation, we have officially not been gathering RagBags since March 2020, but as we have been doing it for such a long time, people still tend to look us up. So, without any reminders or intentions to succeed, we have gathered 291 kg of RagBags, which translates into 116.40 pounds into YYI new building fund.
Jazakum Allahu khairan for remembering us! :)
Sharing the good news, mashaAllah! May Allah bless her and all our other pupils! :)

It is Friday 12th June = the last day of FLA for this school year, alhamdulillah. ;)
We usually have an end of the year assembly and a party ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰for the children, but due to the special circumstances we are unfortunately unable to do it this year and will have to be contented with an online ceremony inshaAllah. ๐Ÿ–ฅ
I can't say enough how proud I am of all our pupils, teachers and parents for pulling through and totally smashing this Term 4, regardless of the hardship. ๐Ÿ™Œ May Allah bless all of you in this life and in the hereafter and may He keep us all on the straight path and safe from harm! Allahumma Ameen! ๐Ÿ’™
Have a lovely and safe summer break and I hope to see you all in August 2020 for the start of the new school year inshaAllah. :)
